On Friday 8th April we performed 'The Room of Unlimited Possibilities' to a full audience at the ARTos Foundation in Nicosia. We are very grateful to ARTos for their hospitality and their help in promoting our production. Tickets sold in this performance, as well as Wednesday's show in Larnaca have helped contribute towards our expenses for the Edinburgh Fringe Festival.
'The Room of Unlimited Possibilities' premiered last night in Larnaca, to a full audience! Once again, audience members were unwilling to leave the space, eager to discuss what they had seen and provide us with invaluable feedback. It is this response which has led us to organise our transcendental workshops, the second of which will be held this Saturday, in Larnaca - covering both Wednesday's performance and tomorrow night's in Nicosia! The workshop will be in Greek. English performances and workshops will be held in Limassol and Larnaca in May/June.
Due to the ongoing demand for more performances and workshops of 'The Room of Unlimited Possibilities', (and also to help finance our Fringe expedition!) we have scheduled the following dates:
LARNACA Youth Foundation for Cultural Creativity – Wednesday 6th April 8.30pm (Greek) NICOSIA Artos Foundation – Friday 8th April 9.00pm (Greek) LIMASSOL Old Vinegar Factory - Friday 6th May 9.00pm (Greek) Old Vinegar Factory – Friday 20th May 9.00pm (English) Transcendental Workshops LARNACA – Saturday 9th April 4-7.00pm, YogaLife Yoga Centre (Greek) LIMASSOL – Saturday 7th May, 11am – 2pm (Greek) Saturday 21st May, 11am – 2pm (English) Tickets Performance only: €15 Workshop only: €30 Performance and Workshop: €40 Theatro Transcendental will be attending the biggest performing arts festival in the world this summer in Edinburgh (www.edfringe.com) ! We have decided to take our first production, 'The Room of Unlimited Possibilities' abroad. We have booked a venue - TheSpaceUK (www.thespaceuk.com), and will be performing daily for two weeks, from 8th-20th August at 6.30pm.
The costs we must cover are quite high, which means we will require as much help as possible in order to make this happen. If you know of any company or organisation which may wish to fund our efforts, please let us know asap. We are currently planning further performances, workshops and fundraisers to help us raise money, and any other ideas are welcome! Last Saturday marked our first official Transcendental workshop, in which the theories behind the play 'The Room of Unlimited Possibilities' were explored through theatrical techniques and games. It is one thing to sit in a dark audience and watch a performance, and a whole other thing to expose yourself in a wokshop, not knowing what will happen, and what you will be asked to do. The women that dared to take this leap all surprised us, as well as themselves. The workshop was far more successful than we could have hoped, for it proved that after seeing the theories brought to life by the woman in the play, audience members are then able to practically apply them to their own situations. As the response was so positive, we are now in the process of planning future workshops. We hope that soon we will be able to offer them on a regular basis, for adults as well as children. Keep checking back for more information, or send us a message using the form below, in order to receive newsletters from us. Additional Performance of 'The Room of Unlimited Possibilities' followed by Transcendental Workshop!1/12/2011 Theatro Transcendental presents “The Room of Unlimited Possibilities” for one more performance on Friday the 28th January, 9.00pm at Melina Mercouri Theatre, in Nicosia. Following the performance, a theatrical workshop will be held on Saturday the 29th Janurary 4.00pm-7.00pm at E.S.O.B.G.A, for those who would like to further explore the practices presented in the performance. The workshop will offer the opportunity for individuals to take the role of the play’s protagonist, and through a guided process, discover their own rooms of unlimited possibilities. Prices: Performance only: €12 Workshop only: €30 Workshop and Performance: €40 Information/Bookings: Tel. 96384954 To download an outline of our workshop plan, click on the link below:
English-speaking audiences were offered the opportunity to view our first production this week, in both Nicosia and Limassol. Once again the response was extremely positive, and for this we must express a strong gratitude to all audience members who have come forward after performances to share their thoughts and emotions. For us the work is still very much in progress, but knowing that we have succeeded in not only reaching people, but moving them towards possible positive changes in their lives fortifies our effort to a great extent. Our next performance is scheduled for January 28th, in Greek, at Melina Mercouri Theatre in Nicosia. This performance will be accompanied by an optional workshop (details pending), in order to allow our spectators to further unearth the messages of the play in their own personal way, through guided activities. For now, we would like to offer you a short clip from a favourite scene in the play, which brings to life the woman's three selves - the outer (ego), the secret (subconscious) and the higher (wisdom). The Room of Unlimited Possibilities continues to inspire and excite audience members, this time in a performance held at Studio 8, in Limassol. The enthusiasm after the show led to a long queue of people, eager to sign up their email addresses and be informed of future performances and workshops. Details about workshops in particular were repeatedly demanded, making it clear to us that audiences would like to take the play's offerings one step further, and learn more about how to practically apply these theories to their own lives. We are currently working to satisfy these requests!
